Rise team in Davos

The RISE team ended a busy few days in Davos with a session on Business with Purpose in the SDG Tent together with Said Business School/University of Oxford, Givaudan, P&G and L’Oréal. The debate highlighted some of the questions that emerged during this year’s World Economic Forum. How do you define purpose and how is it different from CSR and ESG? Who owns it and is accountable for its legacy over time? At a time when it sounds like everybody has a purpose – how do you separate out the fake news? RISE has 3 core principles: – The purpose should guide business decisions and drive performance – It should be developed as part of an inclusive process that includes external stakeholders – It should be accompanied by a set of measurable goals and reported on regularly Only when the purpose is at the core of company strategy and engagement will it have a transformational impact on the organisation. #RISE #businesswithpurpose #wef20
